15th January – HTC / Monaro Club Poker Run
What a day! – The best way to describe it. With the group of Toranas and Monaro’s beginning to gather at castle Plaza it was looking good from the start. An excellent turn out from both clubs made for some great cruising and some good poker competition as the cards changed hands in numerous trades. A well run cruise took in the sights of some more country places such as Nairne, Callington and Strathalbyn. With some more out of the way driving, it proved a great day to see some more of the wonderful countryside. Meadows was the final destination where a BBQ was enjoyed by all, cooked on our newly acquired BBQ trailer. For those who chose to, a cruise back to McLaren Vale for coffee was the last stop.
4th December – HTC Christmas Cruise
This year it was decided to change the destination from the Barossa Valley to Myponga. It wasn’t too long before the car park at our usual meeting point started to fill up with bright and shining Toranas. This December Cruise, we were on tight schedule as lunch was beckoning. Heading off we made our way to the second meeting point at Shannons, Clarence Gardens for a quick greet and chat before setting off again.
One HTC Member, who will remain to be nameless, seemed a little daunted by the number of cars and the fact that having an LC 4 cylinder may slow things up somewhat. That thought lasted about 30 seconds with Tracey (whoops) leading most of the way…
The catch up point in McLaren Vale created a lot of interest by the public. From there the stream of cars proceeded through Willunga and finally finishing at the Myponga Sporting Club before settling down to enjoy our Christmas Lunch.

13th August – HTC Movie Night

August saw HTC remain indoors waiting for Spring to arrive. The HTC Movie Night took place at Shannons Clubrooms. While watching the Looney Tune Cartoon prelude, the room became inundated with Pizza for everyone to eat. When the hunger was satisfied, it was time to sit back and enjoy the main feature. Keeping in with a car theme, the movie of choice was “Made In Dagenham”. The movie was about car manufacturing in the 60’s. Although the movie was about a Ford Factory, one could overlook the brand and relate to the cars and the people of the time. All in all—Good night with good company. On a separate note, the evening also served to raise money for the Salvation Army. Money raised for the night was in excess of $100.00 and was donated to the Muggies Programme.

16th July 2011 – 10 Pin Bowling Night
Flashing lights, music, and glow in the dark shoe laces set the mood for the Annual HTC Bowling Night. A big turn out of people brought out everyone’s competitive streak bowling over seven lanes. Although for many it was quite obvious that their talents were in driving Torana’s and not bowling…. Team “Lane 14” was the winner of the evening, with a two game combined score of 1110. Thanks to all that attended which made it a great evening, enjoyed by all….

5th June 2011 – Bethany Pie Run
It was a cold sunny Sunday morning when the cars set off heading for the Barossa Valley via the Adelaide Hills. The catch up point at Mt Pleasant created some local interest and turned the heads of passing motorists. From Mt Pleasant in the Adelaide Hills, the scenery soon changed to vines as the cars worked their way to Bethany Reserve in the Barossa Valley. Upon arrival, all participants received a piping hot meat pie to warm up in front of the open fire that was conveniently blazing away.
