Modified Vehicle Registration

10th May 2012
The Modified Vehicle Registration scheme did not come about as we had all hoped.

The changes to Historic and left-hand drive vehicle scheme that come into effect on the 1st of July 2012 instead have a new category called “Street Rods”. This new category does not apply to Toranas as they are not old enough. From the Transport SA website, the definition of a Street Rod is as follows: A Street Rod is a vehicle that has been modified for safe road use and  has a body and frame that were built before 1949 (or is a replica of a vehicle, the body and frame of which were built before 1949).

There have also been a couple of changes which apply to all scheme participants, these can be found on our Historic Registration page. For further information you can follow this link to Transport SA’s website.
